Minimum Technical Requirements

Minimum technical requirements for the connection of electrical generators, electricity distribution networks, plants of directly connected customers, interconnection lines and direct lines to the grid of Amprion GmbH.

To ensure the technical safety of the transmission network of Amprion GmbH, compliance to minimum technical requirements is mandatory for any connection to the grid of Amprion GmbH. These minimum technical requirements conform to the following rules and regulations in particular:

  • Commission regulation (EU) 2016/1388 of 17 August 2016 establishing a Network Code on Demand Connection (NC DC) 1)
  • Commission regulation (EU) 2016/631of 14 April 2016 establishing a network code on requirements for grid connection of generators (RfG) 1)
  • Commission regulation (EU) 2016/1447 of 26 August 2016 establishing a network code on requirements for grid connection of high voltage direct current systems and direct current-connected power park modules (HVDC) 1)
  • DIN EN 50341 overhead electrical lines exceeding AC 45 kV 3,4,5)
  • DIN VDE 0101 for the erection of power installations with rated voltages above 1 kV 3,4,5)
  • DIN EN 50110 for the operation of electrical installations 3,4,5)
  • Technical rules for assessing system perturbations 2,4)
  • VDE-AR-N 4100 Technical rules for the connection and operation of customer installations to the low voltage network (TAR low voltage) 3,4,5)
  • VDE-AR-N 4105 Generators connected to the low-voltage distribution network – Technical requirements for the connection to and parallel operation with low-voltage distribution networks 3,4,5)
  • VDE-AR-N 4110 Technical requirements for the connection and operation of customer installations to the medium voltage network (TAR medium voltage) 3,4,5)
  • VDE-AR-N 4120 Technical requirements for the connection and operation of customer installations to the high voltage network (TAR high voltage) 3,4,5)
  • VDE-AR-N 4130 Technical requirements for the connection and operation of customer installations to the extra high voltage network (TAR extra high voltage) 3,4,5)
  • VDE-AR-N 4131 Technical requirements for grid connection of high voltage direct current systems and direct current-connected power park modules (TAR HVDC) 3,4,5)
  • VDE-AR-N 4141-1 Technical rules for operation and planning of electrical networks – Part 1: Interface between transmission and distribution systems 3,4,5)

  • VDE-AR-N 4400 Electricity Metrology (Metering Code) 3,4,5)

General and technical rules for using the connection with load- profile metering, to be found under

Grid connection contract/connection usage contract

In individual cases it may be necessary to define additional specific requirements for a customer connection which is beyond the scope of the above rules and regulations. This depends on possible customer-specific characteristics of the connection. Appropriate rules are agreed to bilaterally in the grid connection contract.
