Dr Hans-Jürgen Brick
Dr Hans-Jürgen Brick has been a member of the management board of Amprion GmbH since 2009 and was appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on 1 April 2020. He is responsible for the following areas: European Affairs and Sustainability Management, Energy Policy, Corporate Communications, Legal Affairs, Risk and Compliance, Human Resources and Operations Revision.
Prior to his appointment to the board at Amprion, he had from 2003 to 2009 been a board member of RWE Transportnetz Strom GmbH, out of which today’s Amprion GmbH arose.
Brick was born in 1960 in Essen, at the heart of Germany’s old industrial heartland in the Ruhr region. He studied at the College of Finance North Rhine-Westphalia (FHF Nordkirchen) and subsequently graduated in law from the Ruhr University Bochum and the University of Cologne. In 1992, Brick took his Second State Examination in Law and received a doctorate in law from the University of Cologne in the same year. In 1993, he was called to the bar at the Regional Court of Essen.
Brick began his professional career in 1992 as a tax consultant at RWE Energie AG. From 1993 to 1998, he headed up the Department for Fundamental Tax Issues/Income Tax. For a short period, he then took over the Central Department for International Tax Law & Shareholdings. Between 1999 and 2000, Brick was responsible for all tax issues at RWE Energie AG. In 2000, he moved to RWE Plus AG, where he was in charge of Finance, Accounting and Tax through to 2003.

Dr Christoph Müller
Dr Christoph Müller has been a member of the Management Board of Amprion GmbH since July 2024. As Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), he is responsible for the areas of grid management and strategy/corporate development.
Müller was born in 1971. He studied economics at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität (WWU) Münster. In 2013, he completed a doctorate in economics at the WWU. Müller began his professional career in 1997 at the British power plant operator PowerGen plc (now E.ON UK plc) before moving to EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG in 2000. He initially worked there as an assistant to the Chief Sales Officer and then helped to set up the Group's regulatory management.
From 2009, Müller took on various management roles at EnBW, including in the transport networks and trading divisions. In 2013, he moved to the Management Board of Netze BW GmbH, which he took over as Chairman two years later.

Dr Hendrik Neumann
Dr Hendrik Neumann has been a member of the management board of Amprion GmbH since 1 January 2021. As Chief Technical Officer (CTO), he is responsible for the following areas: Asset Management, Grid Projects, Offshore, Transmission System Operation and Occupational Safety.
Neumann was born in January 1977 in Essen. He graduated in electrical engineering from TU Dortmund in 2002. In 2007, he received his PhD, likewise from the Faculty of Energy Systems and Energy Economics at TU Dortmund.
Neumann began his professional career in 2002 as a research associate in the Faculty of Energy Systems and Energy Economics at TU Dortmund. In 2007, he joined Amprion GmbH, where he initially worked as consultant for System Services in Brauweiler. He assumed control of Front Office and System Planning in 2011. Between 2013 and 2019, he was responsible fort he department for Process Control Systems in Brauweiler. Then he changed to Amprion’s Substation department in Dortmund and chiefed it until December 2020.

Peter Rüth
Peter Rüth has been a member of the management board of Amprion GmbH since 30 April 2020. As Chief Financial Officer (CFO), he is responsible for the following areas: Finance, Controlling, Investment Management, Accounting, Taxes, Insurance, Regulation Management and Procurement.
Rüth was born in 1966 in Essen. He graduated from the Polytechnic University of Essen (UGH Essen, now the University of Duisburg-Essen) in 1993 with a degree (Diplom) in Economics. He began his career that very same year as a trainee at the RWE power station in Frimmersdorf. Between 1995 and 2003, Rüth held various management and advisory positions in the grid and power plant division of RWE AG.
From 2003 to 2013, Rüth was Head of Accounting & Controlling at RWE Westfalen-Weser-Ems AG and RWE Vertrieb AG. In 2013, he switched to sales management for RWE Deutschland AG, where he was appointed Head of Sales Performance International the following year. Between 2016 and 2020, Rüth held the post of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Retail Deutschland at innogy SE.
